Owner : Margaret Cordo 20298 North 99 Frontage Road Location : South of site Septic : System is 15 years old , no problems All of the surrounding homes reported no problems with the existing leach fields . GROUND WATER The owners well was sounded in March, 1991 with the depth to ground water recorded as 52 feet . All of the other neighbors interviewed and listed under the existing septic tank useage indicated that the depth to ground water is approximately 60 feet . The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation Study , Fall 1985, indicated a depth to ground water of approximately 60 feet (Exhibit 3) and a water gradient which fell about ten feet per mile in a northerly direction . WATER Water samples were collected on 7/17/91 by a representative of F .G.L . Laboratories and tested for Dibromochloropropane ( DBCP) and Nitrates . The results are included as Exhibits 4 and 5. The results show Nitrate levels at 24 mg/ l and DBCP level as 0. 51 . :;OILS AND PERCOLATION TESTS The "Soils of Sari Joaquin County , California" as published by the University of California indicates the predominant soils type at the site to be Hanford Sandy Loam ( brownish) or San Joaquin Loam, deep ( reddish brown ) . We encountered so rle clay . Two six inch diameter by three foot deep percolation test holes were dug on the property . A percolation test was run on May 8, 1991 under permit and inspection by San Joaquin Public Health Services . The location of the test holes and the test results are shown on Exhibit 6. CONCLUSION Based upon the results of the percolation tests , interview and other data , it is my opinion that the subject property is suitable for septic systems , and that the use of septic systems should not impact or degradate the existing water Lable at the density proposed . I recommend that 12,000 S.F . be reserved for both parcels for leach area expansion .
