We counted
the building clusters within one square mile of the Site, and made the assumption that each building
cluster has one septic system. Using this method,we determined that there are a minimum of 175
septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of agriculture and scattered residences. There is a concentration of
residences and businesses lining Highway 99.
3.5 Septic System Permit History in the Vicinity
The following septic system permits were found for the vicinity of the Site during file review at
EHD on June 3,2005:
Table 1.
Vicinity Septic System Permit Summary.
Address,Date Tank Lines,Length,Pits Comments
Capacity
2_5565 Highway 99,9-23-77 1200 gal Three 40 foot lines,three 36"in New installation to
diameter x 25'deep seepage pits residence
i 25570 E.Highway 99,5-10-95 1600 gal Three 40 foot lines,one33"in New installation to
\„ diameter x 25'seepage pit residence
25570 N.Highway 99,11-2-77 1200 gal Two 40 foot lines,two 33"in New installation
diameter x 25'deep seepage pits
25570 N.Highway 99,10-7-87 1600 gal Three 40 foot lines,three 33"in New installation to a
diameter x 25'deep seepage pit residence
2.5.601 N.Highway 99,7-7-78 1200 gal Three 40 foot lines,three 33"in New installation
diameter x 25'deep seepage pit
25650 N.Highway 99,10-14-57 Not One 60 foot line,one 33"inNew installation
a..
reported diameter by 20'deep see a e piT
Note:The septic systems in the area appear to utilize leach lines and seepage pits.
v
3
