Presoaking of the holes commenced on June 2, 2005 and the tests were performed on June 3,
2005. The deep test holes were excavated to a depth of 24 feet and 21 feet respectively. The
third deep test hole was excavated to 23 feet. All holes were backfilled with 2 inches "pea
gravel". A 2 inch PVC pipe with perforations at the bottom was installed into the test hole and
gravel was poured in the annular space.
6.4 Description of the Date,Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry,Depth to Water Remaining in Hole,Etc.): On
May 5, 2005 the four shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added to the holes
and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. Two of the shallow tests passed the minimum
County requirements.
On June 3,2005, the first deep test holes were found to be intact and water was remaining in the
holes. Four hour tests were performed. (See test results in appendix.)
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth,
diameter,2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests
conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form(Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
Shallow
TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 (Parcel 1) 15 MIN./IN.
2 (Parcel 4) 17.14 MINJIN.
3 (Parcel 2) 120 MINJIN. (FAIL)
4 (Parcel 3) 120 MINJIN. (FAIL)
DEEP TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
P-3 (Parcel 2) - (FAIL)
P-3 (Parcel 3) - (FAIL)
*See Results in Appendix.
6.7 Discussion of Any Potential Problems Predicted and/Or the Need for An Engineered or
Alternative Septic System: In this area, the soils are classified as Redding gravelly loam. Due
to this classification and percolation rates, a standard septic system similar to those found on
surrounding parcels would be recommended on Parcels 1 & 4, (Test holes 1 & 2). Engineered
systems are recommended on Parcels 2 and 3 (Test holes 3 & 4).
6.8 Discussion of Percolation Rates in Relation to the Type, Size and Location of future
leach fields at the site: Based on the results of the percolation rates and the soils profile, it is
4
c:\0466\Soi1 Report
