GROUND WATER DEPTH AND TESTING
According to the neighbors interviewed, the depth to ground water varied form 200-250 feet
in depth. According to the map of"Lines of Equal Depth to Water in Wells" published spring 1994
by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the depth to groundwater
at this location is between 120 and 130 feet.
Water was sampled on March 12, 1997 from Galen Meyer's residence well located on lot 7,
west of the proposed development. The sample was tested for the presence of nitrates and
dibromochloropropane (DBCP). Test results indicated that DBCP was non-detected and the level
of nitrates were 4.9 mg/l,which is well below the Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) of 45 mg/l.
A copy of the test results are included in the Appendix.
VI. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
Six soil profile/test holes were excavated to a depth of 10-17.5 feet near the center of each
of the six lots in order to determine the soil profile in the general area. For approximate location of
the test holes (PT) see the Parcel Map in the Appendix. The soil profile holes were logged by an
engineer and a description of the soils encountered in each hole is contained in the Appendix.
The surface soils consisted of a brown silty stiff clay. The surface soils were underlain by
a cemented layer of sandy silty clay which in tum was underlain by a brown sandy lean clay. A 2-
pERSpi
= W
O
<TSpG\
