_ October 13, 2004
NOA Project Number: E040112B
3.0 EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE
3.1 Existing On-Site Septic Tank Usage
In his answers to the environmental questionnaire for the Surface Subsurface Contamination Report
for the Site, dated October 4, 2004, Mr. Huerta indicated no knowledge of wells or septic systems
on the Site. Mr. Fraser was also unaware of wells or septic systems (personal communication,
October 6, 2004).
3.2 On-Site Septic Permit History
No septic permits were found for the Site during file review at EHD on October 5,2004.
3.3 On-Site Septic Repair Permit History l /
No septic repair permits were found for the Site during file review at EHD on October 5, 2004.
3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the Site, our office reviewed
a 2002 aerial photograph of the subject property available from Microsoft Terraserver. We counted
the building clusters within one square mile of the Site, and made the assumption that each building
cluster has one septic system. Using this method,we determined that there are a minimum of 140
septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
`` 3.5 Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
The following septic system permits were found for the vicinity of the Site during file review at
EHD on October 5,2004:
Table 1.
Vicinity Septic System Permit Summary.
. Address,Date Tank Lines,Length,Pits Comments
Capacity
11573 Norman Ave.,3-22-88 1,200 gal Two 50-ft leach lines,two 36-in New installation to
diameter by 25-ft deep seepage pits residence.
