Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 23 or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards and rural residences.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area
utilize leach lines or leach lines with sumps. The septic permits can be found in
Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from the existing residential and
office uses. No construction is planned at this time. Septic system design should be
based on the On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards (2003) or other engineering
recommendations.
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground-water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from the spring and fall of 2012 were the most recent
available from this source. According to an analysis of these maps (Plates 5 and 6),
ground water elevation ranges from approximately 24 to 27 feet above mean sea level;
ground water flows down to the north at a rate of approximately six feet per mile in the
vicinity of the Site.
Given that the ground elevation of the Site is approximately 65 feet, based on the
County ground water maps the depth to ground water below the Site is estimated to
range between 38 to 41 feet, depending on the season.
LOGE 1328 Page 3
