Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage <br /> Existing Septic System <br /> Based on review of EHD permits, it appears that two septic systems exists on the Site, 3 , <br /> one for each residence. <br /> Proposed Septic System <br /> A new residence constructed on the homesite parcel would utilize a new septic system. <br /> On-Site Septic Permit History <br /> Three permits related to septic systems for the Site address were identified at the San C3.2 3• <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department: <br /> • July 1965 permit for a new residential septic system. The system utilizes one <br /> 1,200-gallon septic tank and three 60-foot leach lines. The permit indicates that <br /> an old system was to be abandoned. (Western residence) <br /> • April 1980 permit for repair to residential septic system. The repair involved one <br /> 1,200-gallon septic tank, one 100-foot leach line, and one sump. (Eastern <br /> residence) <br /> • October 1998 permit for repair to residential septic system. One 100-foot <br /> infiltrator was added to the existing system. (Western residence) <br /> These permits are included in Appendix 4. <br /> Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity <br /> To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic <br /> systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air <br /> photo imagery from GoogleEarthTm was used. Each building cluster on the photo was <br /> assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 20 or more <br /> septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site. (3 <br /> The general area consists of agricultural land and vineyards, with scattered rural <br /> residences. A school and a winery are located to the south of the Site. <br /> Septic Permit History in the Vicinity <br /> Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area <br /> utilize leach lines or leach lines and sumps.
