reduced the number of sites in the CalSites database. The database is no longer updated by the
state agency and has been replaced by EnviroStor.
No sites within a 1-mile radius of the subject property were identified during the Historical )
CalSites database search.
ENVIROSTOR is a database maintained by the DTSC Site Mitigation and Brownfields Reuse (3.
Program, which identifies sites that have known contamination or sites for which there may be
reasons to investigate further. The database includes the following site types: Federal Superfund
sites (NPL); States Response, including Military Facilities and State Superfund; Voluntary
Cleanup; and School sites. EnviroStor provides similar information to the information that was
•.. available in CalSites, and provides additional site information, including, but not limited to,
identification of formerly contaminated properties that have been released for reuse, properties
where environmental deed restrictions have been recorded to prevent inappropriate land uses,
and risk characterization information that is used to assess potential impacts to public health and
the environment at contaminated sites.
Eight sites within a 1-mile radius of the subject property were identified during the EnviroStor
database search. Seven of these sites were plotted in excess of'/-mile from the subject property,
and based on the relative distance are not expected to represent a significant environmental
concern. The remaining site is further discussed below.
• Beaver Chemical Company, Inc. at 1448 Shaw Road was plotted by the database 0.25 mile
east-northeast (hydrologically upgradient) of the subject property. This listing refers to a
phosphoric acid spill that was documented in 1994. Although a site screening has been
conducted, no completed cleanup has been documented for this site. However, the listing has
been assigned a "historical" status on the EnviroStor database, indicating that it is actively
worked on by the agency and thus does not appear to be a high priority case. Based on this (1,/ Vinformation as well as the relative distance from the subject property, this site is not expected
to represent a significant environmental concern.
SLIC sites are provided by the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). This list
includes sites that have recorded spills, leaks, investigations, and cleanups.
No sites within a '/S-mile radius of the subject property were identified during the SLIC database
search.
Solid Waste Landfills (SWLF) is a database generated by the State of California Solid Waste
Information System (SWIS), which includes active and inactive landfills and transfer stations
within the state maintained by the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
No sites within a %2-mile radius of the subject property were identified during the SWLF
database search.
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment AE 1
Project No.274968
October 11,2007
Page 18
