River Road
brings up many concerns of mine. After all, I live across the road at 18601 E.
River Road
If I read the Site Plan correctly, by 2006 there will be 78 storage tanks,
totaling just under 2.5 million gallons this, in my opinion will be a conunercial
operation and will continually grow and exceed the estimates of trucks/cars per
day.
My Family and I have lived here since 1958, this is an Agricultural
Community, not an Industrial track. I am also a Farmer and have been
involved in farming all my life. I understand what it takes, and what one has to
put up with during the harvest season. Why is this Winery going to be located
on a Country Road, why not on a Highway Iike Franzia or Delicato. I do not
want to hear trucks coming and going all night for months.
Then there is the question of ground contamination. This is a
proccessing plant, what chemicals are used in the process? What are used in
cleaning the tanks and Iines? Where does the water that is used end up? In the
Settling Ponds? Or into the ground water? What about well contamination?
What about the odor from the ponds and all the insects this will attract?
How can this project be railroaded through without an Environmental
Impact Report? I guess money really does talk!
I am totally against this project and I'll end with one final thought
Would Ron &Jamie McManis build this by their house? I really doubt it!
Sincerely,
Y/2 Z
Frank Vander Plaats
18601 E. River Rd.
Ripon, CA 95366
