1
' 5.3 Description of Soil Lithology as Noted From Test Pit by Appropriate Professional Using
Industry Standard Protocol. The soil in this area is classified as Columbia Fine Sandy Loam, Delhi
' Loamy Sand, Grangeville Fine Sandy Loam, Honcut Sandy Loam, Jacktone Clay and Meritt Silty
Clay Loam, as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, as provided by the United States
Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
' 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Columbia
Fine Sandy Loam, Grangeville Fine Sandy Loam and Honcut Sandy Loam permeability is moderately
' rapid. The Meritt Silty Clay Loam permeability is moderately slow. The Jacktone Clay permeability ig
slow. In the Delhi Loamy Sand permeability is rapid. Percolation rates ranged from 8 mins/in to 14
' mins/in(See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
' 6.1 Site Map Showing the Location, with Concise and Accurate Dimensions of the Percolation
Test Holes on the Parcel: See Appendix.
' 6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: Three shallow percolation test holes were prepared on the proposed parcels.
' 6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water to Presoak
(minimum 12 inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth42 i hes and 8 inches in
' diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with y Standards. The shallow
holes were prepared by Scott Mackey of Dillon& Murphy. On May 3, 2016 at 7;30 a.m.,the 24 hour
' presoak was started. The holes were filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time.
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak Period
(hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak(minimum 12
inches): On May 4, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. the test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added to the
holes and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. The shallow tests passed the minimum County
requirements.
6.5 The Test Conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02 (correct depth, diameter,2" gravel,6"
water refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation test conformed to San Joaquin County
Policy EHD 02-02.
' 6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (including readings)was Provided with REHS J
Verification Signature. The Rate was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading. See
Appendix for Test Results Form.
' Shallow Test(s)
TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 (Parcel 1) 10 Min./In.
2 (Parcel 2) 14 Min./In.
3 (Parcel 3) 8 Min./In.
*See Results in Appendix.
3
