PA-0200370 OF THE REED LEASING GROUP <br /> (C/O GEORGE REED, INC) (APN: 247-230-09) (ADDRESS: 27865 <br /> EAST RIVER ROAD, ESCALON, 95320) <br /> This application is a request for a Revisions of Approved Actions for an existing Quarry <br /> Excavation to extend the life of the quarry permit an additional 14 years and remove <br /> approximately 2.4 million cubic yards of rock, sand and gravel three phases for a 78.88- <br /> acre parcel. <br /> The project site has a General Plan designation of A/G (General Agriculture) and is <br /> zoned AG-40 (General Agriculture, 40-acre minimum). The project site is located on the <br /> northeast corner of River Road and Harrold Avenue, southeast of Escalon. <br /> Background <br /> On April 17, 2003, the Planning Commission approved Quarry Excavation Application <br /> No. PA-0200370 (QX) for the removal of 2.4 million cubic yards of rock, sand and gravel <br /> in three phases for a 78.88 acres parcel over a 12 year period. Excavation of the site was <br /> to be completed by December 31, 2013 and the final reclamation for this site is to be <br /> reclaimed to an almond or walnut orchard by December 31, 2015. <br /> The applicant is requesting to extend the life of the Quarry Excavation permit an <br /> additional 14 years for excavation and reclamation due to the slowdown in the economy <br /> and current economic market conditions. If the Revisions of Approved Actions is <br /> approved the new expiration date for the permit would be December 31, 2029. <br /> This project is tentatively scheduled to be heard by the Planning Commission on <br /> December 5, 2013. The Community Development Department has reviewed the Quarry <br /> Excavation application and responses from other agencies and will be recommending <br /> that the Planning Commission approve the project subject to the following previously <br /> approved Conditions of Approval. <br /> 1 <br />
