2 -
San Joaquin County August 26, 1993
Attn: Mr. Mike Huggins
Subject: Minor Subdivision Application No. MS-93-57
Soil Suitability Stud
Also attached is a copy of a water analysis performed August 12 ,
1993 from a sample taken from the Applicant's residence at 4774 South
Roberts Road. The source of this water is from an existing domestic
well south of Rolerson Road approximately one-fourth (4) mile east of
Roberts Road. The results for the nitrate and DBCP levels were found
to be acceptable.
Within a radius of one-fourth (4) mile of the subject property,
there are four (4) existing residences, including a labor camp on the
subject site. Within the past sixteen (16) years, there have been two
(2) known septic system failures within this area. Environmental
Health Permit Number 77-80 was issued to a residence located at 4378
Roberts Road on January 28 , 1977 which involved the addition of 170
feet of leach line. Environmental Health Permit Number 82-731 was
issued to a residence located at 4774 South Roberts Road on
December 20 , 1982 which included the addition of 40 feet of leach
line. Recognizing that it is not unusual for leaching facilities to
have a life expectancy of approximately fifteen (15) years, the above
instances of failure are not unreasonable.
It is the opinion of the undersigned that the soil conditions are
suitable for the purpose of the subject Application, which is to
create two (2) 10 acre parcels and an 86 acre parcel for proposed
residences and septic systems, and leaving a 158-acre agricultural
parcel with an existing labor camp with an existing septic system.
In consideration of the fact that the subject minor subdivision
application will provide for a maximum of three (3) additional new
septic tank systems, it is the opinion of the undersigned that the
subject application will not have an adverse cumulative effect on the
quality of the groundwater in the area. Our professional opinion is
that the above findings and statements do not constitute either an
expressed or implied guarantee or warranty.
Very truly yours,
SIEGFRIED ENGINEERING, INC.
BY r /
Obert G.
