Cations are held to the soils particles by adsorption and can be
returned to the soil solution for plant use by the exchange process. The limitations for solid and
liquid effluent applications are slight for soils that have a cation-exchange capacity of more than
15, moderate for those with a capacity of 5 to 15, and severe for those for which it is less than 5.4
Site conditions of >15 are considered to have slight limitations.
Site conditions of 5 to 15 are considered to have moderate limitations.
Site conditions of <5 are considered to have severe limitations.
Refer to page 30 for Endnotes and Reference Sources
Soil Suitability Study
Property Name and Address: Frank Faria Dairy, Inc., 12182 S.Robinson Road, Escalon,CA 95320
Page 14
Western Design/David Avila 2001
