Ted Witt Feedlot
2357 W. Rolerson Road
Stockton, Calif. 95206
Steve Mindt
San Joaquin County Enviormental Health Division
P O. Box 388
Stockton, Calif. 95201-0388
Regarding: Manure waste management plan for the cattle feeding operation located on 46+ acres
at 2357 W. Rolerson Road, Stockton, Calif.
1. Cattlemen ship their cattle to my feedyard to be fed for approx. ninety days with an average
feedlot capacity of 280 cattle on feed per month.
2. They are fed in separate pens and individual lots according to size, sex, or breed.
3. During the winter months, November thru February, manure is scraped bi-weekly and piled. It
is then covered with plastic to prevent fly breeding. As soon as the weather permits, approx.
March or April , the manure is loaded from piles and hauled to Hyponex Corp. ,Linden, California.
4. In the spring, the tarps are removed and the manure is hauled to a stock pile where it is dried
and composted for three months and then hauled to Hyponex in June, July and August.
5. In the summer months, May thru October, the manure is scraped and piled bi-weekly and it is
hauled in bulk to Hypnonex. The manure is hauled from each corral at least one time per month.
6. No solid waste or sludge is dumped or pumped into the evaporation pond. These ponds are
not used for irrigation, and are soley evaporation ponds. If needed, aireation will be added to the
pond.
7. An agricultural analysis of the water is done by an independent lab and the lab analysis is
attached to this proposal.
8. We are currently under permit for a feedlot thru the San Joaquin County Enviormental Health
Division. An inspection for fly breeding is done bi-weekly and any problems are immediately
corrected.
This inspection meets with the requirements suggested by the county health department. I am
submitting this proposal for your approval. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Sincerely
Ted Witt
