REHS
Environmental Health Division
RE: Manure Management Plan for MS #92-0133, cattle feeding operation
located on 46+ acres at 2357 Rolerson Rd. Stockton, California.
1 . Cattlemen ship their cattle to my feedyard to be fed for an average
of ninety days with an average feedlot capacity of 280 cattle on feed
per month .
2. They are fed in separate pens and individual lots according to the
size, sex, or breed.
3. During the winter months, manure is scraped bi -weekly and piled.
It is then covered with plastic to prevent fly breeding. ••
4. In the spring, the tarps are removed and the manure is hauled to
a stock pile where it is dried and later hauled away in bulk, to
Hyponex Co. , Linden, California.
5. In the summer months, the manure is scraped and piled bi -weekly
and as it dries, it is hauled away in bulk.
6. No solid waste or sludge is dumped or pumped into the evaporation
pond. These ponds are not used for irrigation, and are only
evaproation ponds . If needed aireation will be added to the pond.
7. An agricultural analysis of the water is done by an independent
lab and the lab analysis is attached to this proposal .
8 . We are currently under permit for a feedlot thru the San Joaquin
County Enviormental Health Division. An inspection for fly breeding
is done bi -weekly and any problems are immediately corrected .
This inspection meets with the requirements suggested by County
Health Department. I am sumitting this proposal for your approval .
Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Sincerely,
Ted Witt
