QUARRY EXCAVATION APPLICATION
RECLAMATION PLAN—AGGREGATES, INC.
PAGE FIVE
III. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED RECLAMATION:
A. SUBSEQUENT USE(S): Parcel will be reclaimed back to farming capability,
expected to be a 80 +/- acre walnut orchard. Owner(s) of possessory interest
have been notified and document is attached.
B. RECLAMATION SCHEDULE: Placement of topsoil is concurrent with
mining. Project is proposed in two phases. At the completion of excavation
in each phase, the land will be prepared for planting; disking, leveling, etc.
Reclamation of each phase will be completed within two years of mining
cessation. Reclamation Site Plan attached.
C. POST MINING TOPOGRAPHY: Map of proposed post-reclamation
topography is attached. Cross sections through slopes, cuts, and fills are
shown. Original ground,post-mining surface, underlying geologic conditions
and reclaimed surface are shown on Reclamation Site Plan. For reclamation
purposes, it is desirable to have gradual slopes to allow additional planting of
trees on the slopes. Final slopes will be determined by topsoil availability.
D. IMPOUNDMENTS: No impoundments on site to be reclaimed.
E. DRAINAGE: The use of solid set sprinklers should alleviate any drainage or
water run-off concerns. Proper leveling, sloping and small berms around the
orchard should preclude drainage from the reclaimed site.
F. DISPOSITION OF OLD EQUIPMENT: All equipment used at this site is
mobile and will be removed upon completion of the project.
G. REVEGETATION: The average thickness of the topsoil will vary from 7—9
feet based on boring logs. The replaced topsoil will be properly tilled to
prevent over compaction in the preparation for planting. Typically, planting
of the trees will commence in 20 acre blocks when preparation of the land is
completed. The farming operation will be under the management of a local
grower who has extensive farming operations, primarily orchards, in San
Joaquin County. The application of soil amendments will be used at his
discretion. The orchard will be planted by hand, using cuttings; generally
early spring of the year. Irrigation will be by solid set sprinklers using the
onsite well for the water supply.
