INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to divide two 40 acre parcels from an existing 80 acre parcel.
In accordance with the San Joaquin County Development Title, this Surface and Subsurface
Contamination Report (SSCR) is being submitted for application with the tentative map. This
report will investigate the property for visual or historical environmental contamination based on
field observation, soil testing, and testimony from the owners.
This report includes no chemical analysis. A Condition of Approval for the Minor Subdivision
will require percolation tests and groundwater tests from the wells (nitrates and DBCP). Those
results will be included in the Soils Suitability Report.
Proiect Description
The project consists of one 80 acre parcel located at 16710 E. Sargent Road, Lodi. The A.P.N.
number is 053-110-03. The project is in a farming community and is surrounded by agricultural
land. It is zoned AG-40. The site has no existing houses. See tentative map included in the
appendix.
Irrigation is provided via a private agriculture well.
Proiect History
The primary source of information on the historical use of the property is testimony from the
owners and records from the County. The Marschall family has owned the property for three L-
months. This property and all surrounding properties have had consistent uses in the time the
Marschalls have owned the property. The Marschall's have knowledge of the history of the
property since they own other property in the area.
A review of County Records (San Joaquin County Environmental Health and Agricultural
Commissioner's office and the San Joaquin County Contaminated site list) did not yield any
contamination concerns. The property owners also stated that there have been no groundwater
concerns during their ownership.
A review of County Records yielded chemical uses on the parcel (See Appendix).
There is no record of underground fuel tank storage and the property owners are not aware of
any such tanks.
Field Investigation
The following information was obtained during a field investigation of the site as well as
interviewing the property owner's, field representative, Markus Busolich on October 30, 2003.
1
C:/0399Surface and Subsurface Report
