a
..................
........... . ...... ......
Soil Suitability Study 3
Soil Profile Test :
Excavation to a depth of ten ( 10) feet was performed for the
Soil Profile investigation on the 10 acre parcel at the location
shown on the attached"Tentative Parcel Map" . Two basic soil layers
were found in excavating to the 10-foot depth . The first layer is
a brown sandy loam material to a depth of about 7 ' 06" feet below
the natural ground surface . The second layer from 7 ' 06" to 10 feet
below the ground surface is a clayey loam material .
The San Joaquin County Flood Control And Water Conservation
Map entitled Lines Of Equal Depth To Water Wells" dated Fall 1990
shows the water to be in excess of 120 feet below the ground
surface.
No water was encountered in excavating the Soil Profile Test
Hole to the 10-foot depth . However , upon returning the next day
after excavation to determine the percolation readings , water was
noted in the Soil Profile Test Hole at a depth of 9 ' 07" below the
natural ground surface. The bottom of the leach trench will be a
minimum of 5 feet (5 ' ) above that noted water level .
Percolation Test :
One percolation test hole was excavated to about a 3-foot
depth . The location of the percolation test hole is shown on the
attached "Tentative Parcel Map" .
All percolation tests conducted were performed in accordance
with the percolation test procedures outlined in the "Manual Of
Septic Tank Practice" , published by the Department Of Health
Education And Welfare and the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Public Health Service , Environmental Health Division .
On November 20 and 21 , 1991 , a percolation test was performed
on the subject property under my direction in conformance with San
Joaquin County Public Health Service, Environmental Health Division
regulations and San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Standards .
Percolation Test Hole No . 1 resulted in the percolation rate
and the determination shown on the attached "Field Note Sheet" and
is summarized as follows :
Parcel No . Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable
No . (Minutes Per Inch) Disposal Area
(Square Feet)
1 1 30 10 ,000
Reinhold Seifert MS-92- 1
