PA-0600179 OF <br /> ELEANOR RAUSSER TRUSTEE (C/O CRAIG RASMUSSEN) (APN: 007-130- <br /> 08, ADDRESS: 26210 N. SOWLES ROAD, GALT) <br /> The applicant has submitted the above referenced General Plan Map Amendment pre-application <br /> to change the General Plan designation from A/G (General Agriculture) to A/L (Limited <br /> Agriculture) of a 90.22 acre parcel. The applicant is proposing to ultimately have this parcel <br /> rezoned to AL-10 (Limited Agriculture, 10 acre minimum) and subdivide the property into nine (9) <br /> lots of ten or more acres each. The parcel is flat pastureland and appears to have a farm labor <br /> mobile home on the property. The parcel is under Williamson Act Contract. The parcels to the <br /> north of the project area have scattered residences and have a General Plan designation of A/L <br /> (Limited Agriculture) and zoning designation of AL-10 (Limited Agriculture— 10 acre minimum). <br /> The parcels surrounding the project area on the east, west and south have scattered residences <br /> and have a General Plan designation of A/G (General Agriculture) and zoning designation of AG- <br /> 40 (General Agriculture, 40 acre minimum). <br /> The project site is located on the southeast corner of N. Sowles Road and Liberty Road in Galt. <br /> The Community Development Department has reviewed the proposed General Plan Map <br /> Amendment and offers the following comments: <br /> General Plan Policies <br /> In order to approve the General Plan Amendment, the Planning Commission and Board of <br /> Supervisors will have to determine that the internal consistency of the General Plan is maintained <br /> in adoption of the proposed General Plan Amendment. The proposed change must be consistent <br /> with all of the various General Plan goals, policies, objectives, and implementation measures. <br /> Agricultural Land Use Policy 3(a) General Plan Volume I Page VI-11 <br /> Limited Agriculture <br /> Function: The Limited Agriculture land use designation will be considered in areas of small- <br /> scale agricultural operations where the parcels are generally between five (5) and ten (10) <br /> acres in size outside of areas planned for urban development, and in areas zoned AL-5 and <br /> AL-10 as of the adoption of this Plan. <br /> I <br />
