• SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Tom Horsley to conduct
a Soil Suitability Study for his property located at 6100 South Stanley Road, Stockton,
California (Plate 1).
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development Code.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil
Suitability Study Requirements Checklist.
Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site a five-acre homesite parcel and a 52-
acre designated remainder (Plate 2). Mr. Horsley indicated that no changes to the use
of the Site are planned.
• Site Description
The Site consists of Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APN) 187-060-04 and 187-070-28,
totaling approximately 57 acres. It is located at 6100 South Stanley Road, Stockton,
California; the San Joaquin County Community Development Department lists the
additional addresses of 5900 and 6350 South Stanley Road as well. The Site is a
walnut orchard with a house and a barn/apartment. A domestic well and an irrigation
well provide water to the Site; a capped irrigation well is also present (Plate 3).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 95 to 98 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site is
relatively flat.
The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the
Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This
zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of
commercial agricultural enterprises."
•
LOGE 1710 Page 1
