• Percolation Test Results
The completed percolation test form is included in Appendix 3 of this report. The form
was signed by Mr. Tasiopoulos and indicates the percolation rate for each hole based
on the final water drop observed.
Per San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's definition, a shallow
percolation test hole has a depth between 36 and 42 inches; a satisfactory percolation
rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch (min/in) drop. A deep
percolation test hole has a depth greater than 3.5 up to 25 feet; a satisfactory
percolation rate for a deep test is 30 min/in or less. For the Site to utilize a standard
septic system, one percolation test (either a shallow or deep test) must demonstrate a
satisfactory percolation rate within the proposed septic system disposal field.
Details and results of the percolation tests are summarized in the following table.
Table 2. Percolation Test Summary
Test No., Percolation Percolation Test Duration Comments
Date Tested Test Rate (see notes)
Depth (ft.) (minutes/inch)
P1-S
• 3-14-17 3.34 125 4 hr. Failed*
Shallow Test
P1-D Satisfactory
3-14-17 10.88 2.6 4 hr. perc. rate
Deep Test
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow"test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch. A satisfactory
percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch.
*Only one test(shallow or deep) is required to pass per parcel for that parcel to utilize a standard septic system.
Discussion of Percolation Test Results
The soils within the percolation test area have demonstrated a satisfactory percolation
rate for the use of a standard septic system utilizing leach lines and seepage pits in
accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department.
Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Future septic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site
Wastewater Disposal Standards (2016) where applicable. No new construction is
anticipated.
•
LOGE 1710 Page 7
