The Soil Suitability Study is required by the San Joaquin County Development Title for a Site
Approval (SA-99-67). This report addresses Requirement A of the SA-99-67 letter dated
September 28, 1999 to determine if the site is suitable for a septic system and leach lines.
The Soil Suitability Study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d)
of the San Joaquin County Development-
Major elements of the Soil Suitability Study field work included one (1)25-foot
exploratory soil boring and one(1)in-situ percolation test. A ground water quality test was not a
requirement of SA-99-67. An examination of the soil boring, review of published soil
` information, geologic maps, and available ground water information was used to estimate
suitability of soils. This report presents the results of our study.
H. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
It is proposed to construct a new mini-storage facility on a 2.5-acre parcel located at 3617
and 3625 Stevenson Avenue, Stockton, California. The two properties—APN 092-190-17 & 18
—are to be combined. The facility will have central and side gravel surfaced storage areas. There
will be several rows of storage units along the south end which will consist of used steel shipping
containers anchored to concrete slabs. The facility will also include perimeter asphalt pavement
driveways and a 16,000 square foot storm water retention basin excavated to a depth of 10 feet.
The two existing septic tanks and leach lines are to be removed. An existing water well is to be
used.
