January 6,2000 <br /> Job Number. 599328 <br /> Page 2 <br /> r <br /> HL PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE <br /> A telephone interview with Mr. Bob Palmateer of Grayson Engineering was conducted to <br /> determine the history of the site. Mr. Palmateer is familiar with the recent history of the site and <br /> he indicated the larger parcel, located to the east, sat vacant for some time and was used to store <br /> r heavy equipment and miscellaneous items including shipping containers, an old bus, a crane and <br /> scrapers. The smaller parcel, located west, was a residence. It is planned to remove the residence <br /> to make room for a gravel storage area. Presently, the site is clear with the exception of the <br /> presence of one large storage container and minor"inert"trash <br /> IV. SURROUNDING USAGE <br /> r <br /> The site is generally bounded by Highway 99 to the east, Stevenson Avenue to the south, <br /> a residence to the west, and Calaveras Avenue to the north. Due to the inaccessibility of <br /> neighboring property and barking dogs, one interview was conducted to determine septic system <br /> and water well performance for the area: <br /> STRUCTURE Residence. <br /> OWNER Mr.Paul Field,owner since 1996. <br /> LOCATION: 4102 Newton Road, 1 block west of site. <br /> SEPTIC SYSTEM: Underground septic system,unknown age,2 leach lines of 30 to 50 foot length,no <br /> known problems with septic system,no seepage pits,age of system unknown. <br /> WATER WELL: Well not tested,no known problems,age of well unknown. <br /> A search of relevant septic system and well permit records from the files of the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Division was conducted for addresses along Stevenson <br /> r Avenue. The search located five (5) septic permits,two(2)water well drilling permits and two <br /> (2)water well system repairs and one(1) well destruction permit(See Appendix for copies).
