6.
August 16, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04095A
3.4 Past Off-Site Potential Sources of Contamination
L
No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property
were identified from past uses of surrounding properties, except for the following:
• Three plugged and abandoned dry holes from oil or gas exploration were identified within
one-quarter mile of the subject property.
3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination
6. No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property
were identified from current uses of the surrounding properties.
L 4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Based solely on the nature of the chemical, the use of atrazine on the subject property represents
a potential threat to groundwater. The other agricultural chemicals used on the subject property
do not appear to present a lasting environmental threat to the property.
6-
The potential for lead-based paints or asbestos-containing materials to be present on the property
was not fully evaluated because the interiors of the residential areas were not inspected. It seems
6. likely that some lead-based paints are present on the exteriors of the structures.
` The abandoned car, diesel truck, tires, used automotive batteries, used chemical containers, and
other debris observed should be removed from the subject property but are not likely to present
a lasting threat to the property. The leaking drum and minor oil stains represent small patches
L of contamination on the property which could easily be remedied by removal of the affected soil.
At least five of the six pole-mounted transformers on the subject property most likely contain
L. PCBs. Though the transformers do not appear to be leaking, the potential exists for them to leak
in the future.
6' The location of two plugged and abandoned gas wells within one-quarter mile of the subject
property does not seem likely to pose an environmental threat to the property.
'L
L
13
L '404
L
