Mountain Counties are moving more and more
towards pressure systems. Gravity flow septic systems may work on this site but it depends on
where the owner places the home. The large lots (80 acres) provide adequate room for any
system.
GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
The map Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater, SJC, does not show any data for the site. Map
included in this report. Estimated depth is 90' +. The well permit for 29001 Hwy 26 shows 100'to
water. (Copy included)
SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
No pit was excavated. All shallow(42") holes were hand excavated. All holes except one
contained small rocks that had to be removed in order to proceed to the desired depth, 42". All
holes were 4" to 6" diameter. Many holes were started but refusal occurred prior to 42". On 'y
Parcel 1 and 3 refusal occurred between 18" and 30" on all holes. ( Six on each lot)A layer of
rock exists of unknown thickness and efforts to break thru the rock were unsuccessful. The rock
has broken over the years and if the breaks could be located it would be possible to dig deeper
than 42".
See description of the soil in Soil Survey of San Joaquin County included . The soil description is
Number 17, Pentz-Pardee-Keyes. Portions of Soil Type 18 may also exist in this area. This
location is in the Red Zone as categorized by SJ County,EHD. This requires pits or a strata that
has an acceptable percolation rate. Some test holes contained black silty sand, others silty clay. All
but one hole contained rocks.
PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
The tests conformed to SJC Policy EHD 02-02. All holes were shallow holes. See schematic C.S
drawing showing test hole configuration as it applies to shallow holes. Mr. Mike Escotto, REHS
of San Joaquin County was present for all critical readings. All field forms were signed and are \\
included in this report and include the location(GPS readings)of the test hole.No field forms 'f
exist for Parcel 1 and 3.
2.
}
