October 2,2006 NOA Project Number: E06102A JI L4 Thornton Fire District The Thornton Fire District was contacted by telephone regarding hazardous materials incidents on the subject property. According to staff of that agency,there have been no hazardous materials incidents L• or other environmental concerns on the property within at least the last six years. The structures on the subject property may have been quarantine housing for farm laborers in the 1940s.13 / 6. v 3.1.5 San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's office14 was contacted regarding use of 11M agricultural chemicals on the subject property. Hazel Gallego of the Agricultural Commissioner's office found records for the subject property under the name of Robert Barber (Appendix l). L According to the records,Mr.Barber had a permit in 2003 to apply 2,4-D amine to the subject property. In 2002 and 2003,he applied Weedar 64 (2,4-D dimethylamine salt). L /The EPA's Restricted Use Products (RUP) Report15 was searched for the chemical reportedly applied to the subject property. Based on this source,it appears that Weedar is not an RUP. I 13.1.6 Water Supply and Sewage Disposal System The EHD well and septic permit files were searched on September 19,2006 in an effort to obtain copies L of permits for any water wells or septic tanks on the subject property;no permits were found. 3.1.7 Department ofOil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources The California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) well map 61016 was reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. No wells are `. depicted within one-quarter mile of the subject property. 3.1.8 Site Reconnaissance L A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on September 22,2005. Photographs of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B.
