4 October 2,2006 NOA Project Number: E06102A L ✓ The subject property was observed to be a relatively flax,roughly triangular property. A single-family residence was located on the parcel carved from the northern edge of the property. Five small cabins were located at the northwest corner of the subject property,surrounded by overgrown trees. Debris, �. including mattresses and furniture,was located in and around the cabins. A few buckets of paint and a spray applicator were observed inside one cabin. A drum with a spigot,indicating that it may have been used for water,was observed near the cabins. An abandoned vehicle was observed between the r.. /The and Thornton Road. ✓ The remainder of the property was an open field with a few scattered trees. Two pole-mounted 60 transformers bearing blue PCB-free stickers were observed along the eastern side of the property. The ground surface was covered in dry seasonal vegetation at the time of the site visit;consequently,any soil staining present on the property would not have been detectable. Surrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the north of the subject property was Thornton Road, followed by a mobile home park. To the northwest was a fire station. �., To the west was a single-family residence. Drums and debris were observed in the yard of the residence to the west;based on the orientation of the drums,they appeared to be empty. To the south was open, agricultural land. To the east was Midsection Road, followed by a single-family residence. /3.2 Past On-Site Sources of Contamination �. No potential above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from past uses of the site, except for the following: 4 Agricultural chemicals, including 2,4-D, have been applied to the subject property. The property may have been used for agriculture since at least 1940. • The structures on the property were likely used as housing for farm laborers;it is possible that buried debris may exist on the property. ` /3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Contamination No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from current uses of the site, except for the following: • Debris,including mattresses,furniture,paint cans,a spray applicator,and a drum,was observed ` in and around the cabins on the subject property. • An abandoned vehicle was observed on the subject property between the cabins and Thornton Road. `. 8 60 '.'04 6.
