14 April 2004
AGE-NC Project No.04-1143
Page 6 of 17
r.
hazardous materials. EDR provided AGE with a report of sites within specified search distances of
the subject property that were listed on various environmental databases.
6.1. SUBJECT PROPERTY RECORDS
The San Joaquin County Fire Prevention Bureau and San Joaquin County Agricultural
Commissioner's Office and SJCEHD were contacted and the CVRWQCB database and EDR report
were reviewed concerning the subject property.
6.1.1. Fire Department
AGE contacted the San Joaquin County Fire Prevention Bureau(SJCFPB)regarding permitting of
underground or above-ground storage tanks and hazardous materials violations for APN 063-220-31;
there was no subject property address to search. The SJCFPB noted that records concerning
underground storage tanks would be on file with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Division(SJCEHD).
6.1.2. Agricultural Commissioner's Office/Pesticide Use
AGE contacted the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office (SJCACO) for
information concerning the use of agricultural chemicals on the subj ect property.The SJCACO noted
that agricultural chemicals permitted for use through Restricted Materials Permits are not necessarily
used on the property.Pesticide Use Reports are submitted by the farmer for the actual chemicals and
amounts used.The SJCACO maintains Use Permits for five years,and records are filed by the farm
name or grower name and not by address.
The subject property farm names as provided by Mr.Harris were Bud Harris and John Schallberger;
the SJCAC found files for John Schallberger. AGE reviewed the documents provided by the
SJCACO for the Harris property to identify records pertinent to the subject property. The location
maps provided with the two Restricted Materials Permit packages show the subject property as an
alfalfa field on Map 4, Field 1 (4-1); copies of the Restricted Materials Permits and Pesticide Use
Reports are provided in Appendix C.
Restricted Materials Permits RMPs: Two RMPs were issued; the first RMP, issued as a
supplement for 1/1/1999.12/31/1999, did not include Pesticide Use Reports (PURs).
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
