..!
_ 14 April 2004
AGE-NC Project No.04-1143
Diuron is moderately toxic to animals; for humans, the only reported case of acute, oral exposure to
the herbicide produced no significant symptoms or toxicity. It is not considered to be mutagenic or
carcinogenic at low doses; it is teratogenic at high doses.
Diuron is moderately to highly persistent in soils. Residue half-lives are from 1 month to 1 year.
Some pineapple fields contained residues 3 years after the last application. Mobility in the soil is
related to organic matter and to the type of the residue. The metabolites are less mobile than the
parent compound. In California, diuron has been found in groundwater in the 2 to 3 ppb range.
Diuron is relatively stable in neutral water; microbes are the primary agents in the degradation of
diuron in aquatic environments.
CMR Herbicide Activator: Application (2.50 gallons, 8 ounces per acre) - A 100% active crop oil
concentrate used as a spreader/ activator/ penetrator to increase the foliar absorption of various
herbicides. It is a blend of 80%petroleum oil and 20%non-ionic surfactant. It has superior blending
compatibility with various herbicide formulations. There is no known toxicity to fish, invertebrates,
plants or birds.
CMR NO FOAMA: Application(80 ounces, 8 oz pints per 100 gallons)A nonionic surfactant used
to give optimum wetting and spreading of agricultural insecticides, miticides, fungicides, herbicides
and growth regulating hormones. No Foam A is formulated from materials which do not tend to burn
foliage or leave harmful residues. There is no known toxicity to invertebrates, plants or birds; some
toxicity is noted to some fish.
— May 2001 PUR:
SURpHTAC ad
iuvant Application (3.3 gallons, 50 oz pints per 100 gallons)
CMR Herbicide Activator: Application (10 gallons, 2 oz pints per acre)
_. POAST(sethoxydim):A General Use Pesticide(GUP).Application(10 gallons,2.00 pints per acre)
The U.S. EPA classifies it as toxicity class III - slightly toxic- Sethoxydim is a selective post-
emergence herbicide used to control annual and perennial grass weeds in broad-leaved vegetable,
fruit, field, and ornamental crops. It also has indoor uses. It is available in emulsifiable concentrate
formulations. Diuron is not considered to be mutagenic, carcinogenic or teratogenic at expected
doses.
Sethoxydim is of low soil persistence. Reported field half-lives are 5 to 25 days. It has a weak
tendency to adsorb to soil particles [58]. Laboratory leaching tests have suggested that sethoxydim
could leach in soil. However,in field tests, sethoxydim did not leach below the top 4 inches of soil,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
