KLE/NFELOER
BfigMRople.FIgFSolutlonf.
Parcel 1
Parcel 1 consists of 7.39 acres. It is located along Harlan Road and consists of a portion of
Transportation Court on the southern portion. The central portion of the parcel is improved with
a 39,694 square foot, two-story truck shop building. The remaining portions of Parcel 1 consist
of asphalt-parking areas. Parcel 1 contains a septic tank and leach fields located on the
southern portion, just north of Transportation Court.
The building on Parcel 1 consists of an office, supply store, repair/maintenance shop, body
shop, paint room, paint mixing room, drivers' lounge, and training room. Site activities with the
potential to impact subsurface conditions beneath the Site are related to the repair/maintenance
and body shops, which are detailed further below.
Repair/Maintenance Shop
The repair/maintenance shop is a 17-bay shop where trucks are mechanically repaired and
maintained. Truck repairs occur indoors atop the concrete slab foundation. Upon inspection,
drip pans were noted, and concrete staining was not noted. The concrete slab was observed to
be in fair to good condition with minor cracking. Various truck repair related chemicals (e.g.,
new/used oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze) are stored in 55-gallon drums and ASTs located
throughout the building.
Two wash bays are located immediately north of the repair/maintenance shop, beneath a shop
awning. Each wash bay is equipped with a drop inlet that drains into a three-stage, closed loop
oil/water separator. Oil and water are first separated through a subsurface weir system. The
outgoing water is then filtered and sent to an evaporator, where water is evaporated out.
Remaining oil sludge from the processes is collected in 55-gallon drums and temporarily stored
onsite before being collected and disposed offsite by an outside contractor.
Body Shop
The body shop is an 8-bay shop where truck body work is conducted. Body work occurs indoors
atop the concrete slab foundation. Upon inspection, concrete staining was not noted, and the
concrete slab was observed to be in fair to good condition with minor cracking.
20172543.001A/ST016R49461 Page 40 of 54 November 2, 2016
0 2016 Kleinfelder .kleinfelder.com
