KLE/NFELDER
Brlglithopk.W9hYluMwa.
use. The remaining two ASTs containing new oil were upright with an approximate capacity of
1,500 gallons each. No secondary containment was noted for these two ASTs.
A former fueling area indicated by Mr. Farmer was observed near the entrance gate by East
Transportation Court. This fueling area has since been demolished. A large asphalt cut out and
newer concrete pads were noted in this area.
A single subsurface oil/water separator tank and above ground filtration unit is located near the
northeast corner of the shop building. Strip drains were noted along the perimeter of the shop to
the north, south and east. A wash rack area with strip drains were noted under a covered
awning east of the shop. Two manholes labeled as storm drains were noted just exterior to the
wash rack area to the east. Mr. Farmer indicated these were not storm drains, but were
connected to the strip drains that were piped to the oil/water separator unit.
Septic systems were observed west and north of the office building by the northwest corner of
Parcel 3. Six large standpipe features and two sanitary manholes were noted in this area,
including an operation panel reportedly related to the septic system. A large standpipe was also
noted in the far northwest corner of the Site in the same area. Soil was noted to be elevated in
the evaporative area by about a foot, with various piping stubs noted in the general area. Mr.
Farmer indicated the six large standpipe features, operation panel and various piping observed
was a permitted, sanitary sewer package treatment system. The two sanitary manholes were
reported as a prior septic tank now used for pumps in the package treatment system. The
standpipe in the northwest corner was reportedly associated with a shared storm drain pipe
trending south along the western border of Parcel 3.
Several large storm water inlet boxes were noted in the yard area and a shallow drainage
ditch/swell trended along the eastern and southern boundaries. The surface drainage appeared
to trend south and west with an observed discharge point area at the southwest corner of
Parcel 3. The discharge was into the southeast corner of the offsite adjacent retention basin. A
discharge pipe was also noted in the northern portion of the retention basin which was in-line
with the western border and reported large diameter storm drain pipe. This pipe reportedly
discharges into the north part of the offsite retention basin.
No transformers were observed onsite. Minimal staining was observed in the aggregate base
rock yard and asphalt parking areas. The Site visit however, was after a recent rain event.
Therefore, visual observations of obvious soil staining may have be obscured.
