November 23, 2004
NOA Project Number: E040140A
4.0 DISCUSSION OF NITRATE LOADING RESULTS
4.1 Total Nitrate Impact
` Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading balance indicates
that the proposed development on the Site will not cause a build up of nitrate in the shallow ground
water aquifer above 10 mg/L-N. The calculated impact is 1.5 mg/L-N. This low result is primarily
` due to the large size of the property, the relative low septic uses, and the deep percolation of rainfall
for the Lodi area.
` 4.2 Methods of Mitigation
No mitigation for nitrate reduction is proposed.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
` Our office concludes that the Site is suitable for proposed development. The calculated impact to
ground water from nitrate generated at the site is minimal. We would recommend that a filter bed
type septic system be utilized for any future growth due to the rapid percolation rate.
5.1 Signatures
` The signatures of the environmental professionals involved in the preparation of this report can be
found on the cover sheet at the front of this package.
5.2 Attachments
All required attachments and appendices can be found at the rear of this package.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions proposed in
accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. This warranty is in lieu of
all other warranties either expressed or implied. Test findings and statements of professional
opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.
8 0-1
r..
