SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Greg Bums to conduct a
Soil Suitability Study for the his Spenker Ranch property located at 2651 West Turner
Road, Lodi, California (Plate 1). 3
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil
Suitability Study Requirements Checklist.
Proposed Development
The proposed project is a minor subdivision to split the Site into two new 40-acre (/.7-)
parcels and a designated remainder (Plate 2). Mr. Burns indicated that he has no plans
to change the land uses.
r Site Description
J The Site, Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 013-050-19, is approximately 160 acres in
size. The Site consists of vineyard. An irrigation well supplies water to the Site. A Z /)
recent aerial photograph of the Site is included as Plate 3. ..Lo)
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 27 to 30 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site
topography is relatively flat.
The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the
Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This
zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of
commercial agricultural enterprises."
LOGE 1401 Page 1
