Quarterly Monitoring Report Page 3
TURNER ROAD VINTNERS
WKA No. 5279.03
March 31, 2005
Findings
Depth-to-groundwater measurements beneath the site ranged from 8.37 to 20.62 feet below top
of casing during the January 17, 2005 monitoring event. Groundwater flow on January 17, 2005
was toward the southeast with a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0.0013. Groundwater
elevation contours are shown on Plate No. 3. Groundwater elevation data is provided in Table 1.
Cumulative analytical results for water samples from wells MW1 through MW5 are summarized
in Table 2. Some additional older analytical data for wells MW1 through MW3 are provided in
Table 3. Time plots of the parameters total dissolved solids and conductivity (plus groundwater
elevation) for MW I, MW2, and MW3 are included as Charts 1 through 3, respectively.
Data Quality
All samples were received by the laboratory under documented chain-of-custody. United States
EPA protocols for sample storage and preservation were followed.
Summary
With the addition of two new monitoring wells, groundwater elevation data for the site continues
to indicate southeasterly groundwater flow, however, site topography indicates a westerly slope.
The direction of groundwater flow may be due to influence from the onsite treatment ponds.
First-quarter analytical results for wells MW through MW5 were generally consistent with the
existing body of data for those wells, with the exception that the chloride concentration in MW5
was two orders-of-magnitude higher than the fourth-quarter value (100 mg/L vs.1.9 mg/L).
Water from monitoring wells MW4 and MW5 continue to show elevated values of CaCO3,
magnesium, sodium, alkalinity, and specific conductivity, relative to the older monitoring wells
MW1, MW2, and MW3.
Limitations
The statements and conclusions in this report are based upon the scope of work described above
and on observations made on the date(s) of our fieldwork as presented above. Our work was
performed using a degree of skill consistent with that of competent environmental consulting
firms performing similar work in the area.
