Turner Rd, Lodi, CA
PA-1000051 (SA)
Dear Mr. Escotto,
You have brought it to our attention that there was a procedural error in the tank size
calculation included in our August 5, 2010 addendum to this report. The required tank size is
recalculated below.
The calculations to determine septic tank volumes are provided in the Disposal Standards. For
an average daily flow (ADF) of 1,500 gallons or less, the base tank capacity(BTC) is 1,200
gallons.
The ADF is calculated as follows:
ADF= Average Daily Flow from anticipated use of the facility
Two employees per day
(Dayworkers = 30 gallons per day per person)
- Up to 20 customers per day 7-
,(Bar &Cocktail Lounges = 20 gallons.per day per person)
ADF =(2 *30) f (20 *20) = 460 gallons
The use levels indicated above are probably not the average use but represent the peak use at
the facility. During the off-season months, use levels at the winery will most likely be much
lower.
Because the ADF is less than 1,500 gallons, the required BTC is 1,200 gallons. However, to
lessen the nitrate load to the immediate area, we still recommend using a 2,000 gallon tank.
This size would accommodate the required BTC and allow an extra 800 gallons of volume ,
(about 67 percent) over what is required. The extra volume of the tank will increase the septic
Environmental o Engineering Geology 4, Geophysics
