i
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from spring and fall of 2010 were the most recent available
from this source. According to an analysis of these maps (Plates 5 and 6), ground
water elevation is 45 to 50 feet above mean sea level; ground water flows down to the
northwest at a rate of approximately eight to 10 feet per mile in the vicinity of the Site.
Given that the ground elevation of the Site is approximately 110 feet, the depth to water
below the Site is estimated to range between 60 to 65 feet.
Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
The Soil Suitability Study ino intend -to be an investigation into ground-water
contamination sources, and no sucTi inv tse gation was conducted. Many sources can
contribute to ground water contamination, including leaking underground storage tanks,
agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water infiltration. Agricultural
activities and the use of septic systems in the area are known ground water
contamination sources with the potential to impact the Site.
Live Oak reviewed the EHD's Water Well Data Table dated March 10, 2009 for r
addresses that have been tested for nitrate and dibromochloropropane (DBCP) One
near y w I was identified just over one-quarter mile from the Site. DBCP was detected
in the-wefl at a concentration q 1.9 parts per billion (ppb),'INitrate as NO3 was detected
in the well at concentration f 74:parts per million (ppm)!—The Maximum Contaminant
Level (MCL) set by the USE A for nitrate as NO3 is 45 ppm; the MCL for DBCP is 0.2
ppb.
On-Site Wells
One irrigation ell exists on the Site, as depicte on Plate 2. It is not in use at the
resen No well permits for the Site were me the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department.
Water Sample
Because therd-is no.powers pply to the irrigation well at this time, no water sample was
collected as part ofthistudy.
LOGE 1110 Page 3
