The refill level is 6 inches of water above the
bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken every 30-minutes for a
duration of 4 hours.
a A satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow (3-3.5 foot deep) test is 60 min/in or less. A
summary of the percolation tests are presented next in Table 4.
Table 4.
` Summary of Percolation Tests.
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
IPP Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration
P-1 shallo1-9-04 3.0 , 8 4 hr Test was conducted
(Designated Re ander approximately 75 feet
Parcel) from an existing
domestic water well.
P-2 shallo e
1-9-04 3.0 <5 4 hr Satisfactory test
Parcl
6.5 Discussion of Percolation Tests
As a result of the percolation testing, Parcel 1 demonstrated a satisfactory percolation rate in
accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County EDH. The percolation rate was
observed to be 8 minutes per inch.
The site appears to be suitable for a filter bed type septic system for Parcel 1. The percolation
test conducted on the designated remainder parcel achieved a satisfactory percolation rate.
Should a second dwelling unit be proposed for either parcel, a percolation test may be required
by the EHD within the proposed leach field area to determine the suitability of the soils.
7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, a satisfactory percolation rate was achieved on Parcel 1. No ground water was
encountered in any of the borings drilled on the property. The depth to ground water is
approximately 25 to 27 feet below the ground surface for the period Fall 1998 and Spring 1999.
An onsite water well was tested for nitrate and DBCP. The results will be submitted in a
separate letter to EHD.
Though a percolation test was conducted on the designated remainder parcel, it was not a
requirement for project approval. This test would have been required if the 7.77 acre had not
