Musco Family Olive Company - 9 - 12 December 2006
these wells over the last four events measured ranged between 11.87 (MW-15) and 43.70
(MW-1) feet below ground surface (b s .
Mid-gradient Shallow Wells:;
Groundwater monitoring wells associated with the mid-gradient Land Application System and
drainage swale located below or down gradient of the Reservoir include: MW-3, MW-5, MW-6,
and MW-16. Well MW-16 is located immediately down gradient of the Reservoir, north of the
drainage swale that bisects the raid-gradient area. Well MW-3 is located further down
gradient of MW-16 adjacent to the drainage swale, and well MW-5 is located slightly north of
the swale below the 1-million gallon pond. Well MW-6 is located southeast of the drainage
swale near the southern property boundary. Well MW-6 is a dry well. The mid-gradient wells
are screened within the shallow water bearing zone and groundwater flows across these wells
in a northeast direction at a gradient of 0.04 ft/ft. Average DTW of these wells over the last
four events ranged between 6.82 (MW-16) and 31.75 (MW-5) feet bgs_
Down-gradient Lowland Shallow Wells:
Most shallow groundwater monitoring wells associated with the down gradient lowlands have
not been monitored or sampled for several years due to dry well conditions. Shallow wells
associated with the lowlands area include: W-2 (1985), MW-11, MW-10, and MW-17. Well
k W-2 is located near the southeast corner of Pond B and is considered the down gradient
compliance well for the surface impoundments. Well MW-11 is located near the southwest
corner of Pond A and is considered the up gradient compliance well for the surface
impoundments. Well MW-10 is located at the southeast property boundary south of the
drainage swale and is associated with monitoring the shallow water-bearing zone of the Land
Application System. Wells W-2, MW-10, and MW-11 are dry wells. Well MW-17 is located
near the southeast boundary of Pored B. Wells W-2, MW-11, and MW-10 do not have
recorded groundwater levels in the past four monitoring events. Well MW-17 is currently the
only shallow groundwater monitoring well that monitors water quality in the vicinity of the Title
27 surface impoundments. The average DTW in well MW-17 is 58.'19 feet bgs. Groundwater
flows through the down gradient lowlands in northeasterly direction at a gradient of 0.04 fUft.
Deep Wells:
Six deep groundwater monitoring wells have been installed at various locations within the Mid-
gradient to Lowland areas of the Musco site. Wells associated with deeper water beneath the
site include: MW-4, MW-7 through MW-9, MW-12, and MW-18. Well MW-4 is located north of
the 1-million gallon pond. Well MW-7 is located at the eastern .property boundary northwest of
the surface impoundments. Well MW-8 monitors deep groundwater north of well MW-4 and
well MW-9 is located southeast of the Musco process facility. Well MW-9 has been dry since
April 2002. Well MW-12 is located at the northeast (down-gradient) corner of Pond B and well
MW-18 is located southeast of Pond B. Well MW-18 is the up-gradient deep compliance
monitoring well for Pond A and Pond B. Groundwater associated with the deep water-bearing
zone beneath the subject site has ranged between 92.61 (MW--1 8) and 184.52 (MW-4).
Groundwater in the deep zone flows toward the northwest at an approximate gradient of 0.02
fuft.
