} hn KLEIN FELDER
h
1 INTRODUCTION
Musco Olive Products, Inc. has a year-round olive processing and packaging facility on
approximately 320 acres of land at 17950 Via Nicolo in Tracy, California (Plate 1). Process
water from the production of olives generates approximately 400,000 to 500,000 gallons per day
(gpd) of wastewater. Depending on the level of salinity of the wastewater, the facility currently
applies the wastewater onto crop/grazing fields, approximately 200-acres (Plate 2), or stores the
wastewater in an existing one million-gallon pond. An 84-million gallon storage pond is under
construction in the southwest portion of the facility.
This workplan was prepared to address the requirements of Waste Discharge Requirements
(WDR) Order No. R5-2002-0148 dated September 13, 2002. The RWQCB requested the
submittal of a "Groundwater Monitoring Well and Lysimeter ..Installation Workplan". The
proposed monitoring well locations mi this workplan are intended to evaluate first encountered
groundwater conditions both upgradient and downgradient of the 84 million gallon storage pond.
This workplan is subject to the limitations presented in Section 5.2. Any other party (other than
Musco Family Olive Company or regulatory agencies having enforcement'jurisdiction for the
site) who would like to use this document shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc. of such intended use by
t executing the"Application for Authorization to Use" contained in Appendix D.
I .
I
4
13498.WP215T02R534 Page 1 of 13
Copyright 2002,Kleinfelder,Inc.
