Ted Norgard - 3 - August 28 , 1995 <br /> Because percolation rates measured at several of the test <br /> holes were in excess of the six inches in 30 minutes ( 12 <br /> inches/hour ) rate listed in criteria for the use of <br /> Procedure U . Percolation rate tests were repeated using <br /> Procedure #3 on the test hole at each of the parcels <br /> showing showing the lowest percolation rate , Hole #4 and <br /> Hole # 2 . <br /> Results for these tests , based on field measurements <br /> shown on data sheets included as Attachment C , Page 5 . <br /> Results were as follows : Parcel #1 , Hole #4 , the rate was <br /> 7 . 2 in/hr or 8 . 33 minutes/inch and for Hole #2 on Parcel <br /> #2 the rate was 7 . 8 in/hr or 7 . 7 minutes/inch. <br /> 11 ( 3 ) "The depth and gradient of the water table; " <br /> The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water <br /> Conservation District ( SJCFC&WCD) measures the depth to <br /> water and prepares maps showing "Lines of Equal Depth to <br /> Water in Wells" , as well as maps showing "Lines of Equal <br /> Elevation of Water in Wells" . Copies of the latest avail- <br /> able versions of these maps have been used to reply to <br /> the above question. <br /> Attachment D - 1 ( two sheets ) is a copy of the SJCFC&WDD <br /> map showing Lines of Equal Depth to Water in Wells" , for <br /> Spring 1994 . The location of the property under study is <br /> shown by a red dot on Attachment D - 1 , Sheet #2 showing <br /> a portion of the map for the entire county. The property <br /> is located about midway between the line for the 80 foot <br /> depth and the line for the 90 foot depth . Thus , the <br /> depth to water at the Simpson property was approximately <br /> 85 feet at the time that measurements were made by the <br /> SJCFC&WCD in the spring of 1994 . <br /> Attachment D - 2 ( two sheets ) shows "Lines of Equal <br /> Elevation of Water in Wells , as measured by the SJCFC&WCD <br /> in the spring of 1994 . The location of the Simpson <br /> property is shown by a red dot on sheet #2 of this <br /> portion of the map for the entire county. Direction of <br /> ground water movement at this point is southeast toward <br /> a depression in the water table several miles away in <br /> that direction. Slope is about 15 feet per mile . <br /> A more general interpretation of the lines of equal ele- <br /> vation suggests that the general movement of ground water <br /> underlying the Simpson property would be in a general <br /> southerly direction toward a larger depression in the <br /> ground water table under the eastern part of the City of <br /> Stockton. <br />
