Mr . Ted Norgard - 2 - August 28 . 1995
particular reason for concern if future developments are
required to comply with the well-considered permit system
currently in force .
" ( 2 ) The suitability of the soil for development utilizing
septic systems ; "
Percolation tests were made on each of the two parcels
established by MS 92-145 , in accord with the PERCOLATION
TEST PROCEDURE (Form No . EH 05 10 9/84 - Procedure ) pro-
vided by your office.
For the first set of tests , two separate test holes were
dug for each parcel . Each of the four ( 4 ) holes was
nominally six ( 6 ) inches in diameter and thirty six ( 36 )
inches deep. A two ( 2 ) inch laver of crushed rock was
Placed at the bottom of each hole . No shallow or perched
water was encountered during digging of the test holes .
The numbers shown in the "DEPTH TO FIRST WATER" spaces
indicate the amount of water, in inches , that was placed
in each hole the evening before for the presoak.
Location of the test holes on Parcel 1 are shown on Page
1 of Attachment C . Location of the test holes on Parcel
2 are shown on Page 3 of Attachment C .
The four test holes were presoaked by filling with water
the evening before the tests were made . All were dry the
following morning when the first set of percolation rate
tests were started.
Using Procedure #2 - as described in PERCOLATION RATE
PROCEDURES , your Form EH 05 10 , percolation rates were
measured at Holes 3 and 4 on Parcel 1 ( See Attachment C ,
Pages 1 and 2 ) and at Holes 1 and 2 located on Parcel 2
( See Attachment C , Pages 3 and 4 ) for a period of about
four ( 4 ) hours . Results were as follows :
Results of Percolation Rate Tests
inches hour minutes/inch
Parcel #1 Hole #3 - 12 . 3 in/hr 4 . 9 min/inch
Hole #4 - 5 . 7 in/hr 10 . 5 min/inch
Parcel #2 Hole #1 - 15 . 0 in/hr 4 . 0 min/inch
Hole #2 - 14 . 0 in/hr 4 . 3 min/inch
