31 August 2004
AGE-NC Project No.04-1188
BU-pH-ER(blend of phosphoric acid and propyleneglycol): An acidifier and buffering agent
for lowering the pH of spray water that utilizes organic acids instead of corrosive mineral acids It
i
is nontoxic to test animals by oral, dermal, and inhalation routes of normal exposure and has no
suspected teratogen, carcinogenic or mutagenic effects.
CABRIO EG FUNGICIDE (carbamic acid): Cabrio EG is a fast-acting, broad-spectrum
fungicide. It is considered harmful by ingestion, inhalation or dermal exposure but is not considered
to be mutagenic, carcinogenic or teratogenic at expected doses. This pesticide is toxic to fish and
aquatic invertebrates but has a low toxicity for birds, bees and plants.
CONFIRM 2F (tebufenozide):: An insecticide growth regulator which acts specifically on
Lepidoptera as an ecdysone agonist(hormones). It is slightly toxic to test animals by oral and dermal
routes and nontoxic by inhalation routes with normal exposure; there are no suspected teratogen,
carcinogenic or mutagenic effects. This product is toxic to aquatic invertebrates; data suggest that
tebufenozide ranges from moderately persistent to persistent and is mobile;thus, tebufenozide could
potentially leach to ground water and runoff to surface water under certain environmental conditions.
There is no Maximum contaminant Level (MCL) for residues of tebufenozide in drinking water.
DIGON 400: See DIMETHOATE 4E.
DIMETHOATE 4E: This compound is a General Use Pesticide(GUP)in toxicity class Il and must
_ carry the label WARNING. Dimethoate is an organophosphate insecticide used to kill mites and
insects systemically and on contact. It is moderately toxic by ingestion, inhalation, and dermal
absorption and is a suspected teratogen and carcinogen at high doses. Dimethoate is of low
persistence in the soil environment. Soil half-lives of 4 to 16 days,or as high as 122 days have been
reported, but because it is rapidly broken down by soil microorganisms,it will be broken down faster
in moist soils. Dimethoate is highly soluble in water, but it is not expected to adsorb to sediments
.. or suspended particles, nor to bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms The half-life for dimethoate in raw
river water was 8 days,
DIPEL DF (biological insecticide. Bacillius Thuringiensis): A General Use Pesticide (GUP)
classified as toxicity class III- slightly toxic. Bacillus thuringiensis (B.t.) is a naturally-occurring
soil bacterium that produces poisons which cause disease in insects. B.t. is considered ideal for pest
management because of its specificity to pests and because of its lack of toxicity to humans or the
natural enemies of many crop pests. It is not considered to be mutagenic, carcinogenic or teratogenic
at expected doses. B.t. is a naturally-occurring pathogen that readily breaks down in both soil and
water.
. Advanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc.
i
