• April 1983 permit for new septic system at shop. The system utilizes a 1,200-
gallon septic tank and two 50-foot leach lines.
• January 1975 permit for four new septic systems at labor camp. It appears that
four systems were installed, one at each mobile home of the camp. Three
systems utilize 1,200-gallon septic tanks and filter beds, while the fourth utilizes a
1,200-gallon tank and three 60-foot leach lines.
All the permits may not apply to the Site; additional land to the north of the Site is also
identified by the address of 111 North Zuckerman Road. The permits are included in
Appendix 4.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately 16 square miles surrounding the property. Air
photo imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photo was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that one or
more septic system per square mile is present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of agricultural land. A resort marina is located to the east.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the
area utilize leach lines. One permit indicated a filter bed septic system. The vicinity
septic permits can be found in Appendix 5 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from the existing residential and
commercial uses and any future residential use. No construction is planned at this time.
Septic system design should be based on the On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards
(2003) or other engineering recommendations.
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground-water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from the spring and fall of 2011 were the most recent
available from this source. The Site is beyond the extent of mapped ground water
contours on these maps.
LOGE 1213 Page 3
