KL E/MFEL DER
Bright People.Right Solutions.
the screened section under hydrostatic pressure, and samples will be collected using a
small diameter polypropylene tubing attached to a cleaned stainless steel ball valve or a
stainless steel bailer. New PVC screened and blank sections will be used at each
probe location. Stainless steel bailers, ball valves, and other down-hole re-useable
equipment will be decontaminated prior to use at each sampling location by stream
cleaning or scrubbing in a non-phosphate detergent wash followed by a distilled water
rinse.
The groundwater samples collected will be decanted directly into laboratory supplied
containers appropriate for the requested analyses. After collection, the four
groundwater samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody form, and
immediately stored in an iced cooler. The samples will be transported under chain-of-
custody control to Kleinfelder's office and then transported by courier in a chilled
container to a State Certified Laboratory to perform the requested analyses.
Kleinfelder is proposing the submittal of four groundwater samples during the push
probe investigation for the following quarterly and annual frequency analyses currently
established by the current Waste Discharge Requirements:
Quarterly frequency analyses:
• Nitrates as Nitrogen (N) by EPA Method 300.0,
• Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) by EPA Method 351.1,
• Total Dissolved Solids by EPA Method 2540 C,
• Total and Fecal Coliform Organisms by SM 9221 B,
• pH by SM 4500-H,
• Chloride by EPA Method 3010A,
• Boron by EPA Method 3010A,
• Iron by EPA Method 3010A,
• Manganese by EPA Method 3010A,
• Sodium by EPA Method 3010A, and
• Trihalomethanes by EPA Method 8260.
Annual frequency analyses:
• Alkalinity (bicarbonate, carbonate and hydroxide) by EPA Method 2320B,
• Calcium by EPA Method 3010,
• Magnesium by EPA Method 3010,
48093.E01/ST010R109 Page 3 of 6 March 26, 2010
Copyright 2010 Kleinfelder
