Di= IRRIGATION
Engineers and Contractors
SERVING AGRICULTURE AND INDUSTRY
CA Lic.#638281 WA Lic.DIETZI'020MB
Septic System for Gas Station Mini Mart
For
JD Service Stations, Inc.
26485 Thornton Road
Thornton, CA
Design Philosophy
• The septic system capacity is based on actual water usage for similar mini mart
service station operations located in Patterson, California.
• The proposed mini mart does not include a kitchen operation requiring a grease
trap but to provide for future franchisees who may conduct on site cooking a
grease trap is required. It would be extremely expensive to retrofit the system at a
later date.
• The first chamber of the grease trap will used to receive and store kitchen waste.
The second chamber will receive the drain from the restrooms and other sinks and
will contain a dosing pump to the treatment units.
• Dosing of the treatment unit will be (x) minutes per hour over 24 hours. The
objective is to provide as even a flow as possible to the treatment units to
maximize their effectiveness. A timer will be utilized to activate the dosing pump
and will be adjustable to vary the flow to actual conditions.
• Isolation valves between the dosing pump and the treatment units will be installed
to permit shutdown and service of one unit without shutdown of the entire septic
system.
• An equalizer line will be provided between each of the N icroSeptec treatment
units to insure equal distribution of sewerage between units.
• Gravity overflow of the second chamber of the grease trap will be provided to
insure that sewerage will continue to flow to the treatment units if the dosing
pump failed. An alarm will indicate a high level, which will be a trigger to call
for servicing. The objective of this is to allow time to service the pump without
shutdown of the restrooms, kitchen and sinks.
33233 S. Koster Road • Trocv.
