SANJ O A Q U I N Environmental Health Department
COUNTY--
Complaint Record Daily Time and Activity Summary from 9/112017 to
9/112019 for COZWFC1 DH located at
1102 S AURORA ST
Activity Date Recorded by
07/09/2019 Reviewed disposal records received from Harpal Chahal, property owner, PE 2546 ALANIZ
42 min 408-981-2842, <cvn360@yahoo.com>. SC 544
1 did not find disposal records for the following items listed in the notice to abate:
-Absorbent piles used to clean up spills.
-One 15 gallon fuel tank.
-One refrigerator and two boats.
-Oily dirt on the south side of the facility.
-Several waste containers that were found in the small shop.
Called and spoke with Harpal. He told me that absorbent piles and the oily dirt
were cleaned up and the waste was taken to the HHW. He said he would look for
the receipt and send it to me.
There is a metal recycler next to the facility. Harpal said that they took the
refrigerator, the two boats, and the fuel tank. They did not give him a receipt for
the items.
Harpal said he would generate a response for the waste containers observed in
the small shop. An updated email was sent to Harpal.
Disposal records/ responses needed for:
-Absorbent piles used to clean up spills.
-Oily dirt on the south side of the facility.
-Several waste containers that were found in the small shop.
08/15/2019 Received the last disposal record from Harpal Chahal <cvn360@yahoo.com> on PE 2546 ALANIZ
66 min 7/19/2019. Updated complaint and narrative information. Discussed with Garrett SC 544
Backus. Gathered the documents together and abated the complaint.
Garrett came back with the compliant and had the following questions:
1) Some of the disposal receipts were from the "business" side of household
hazardous waste (HHW) and other receipts were from the "household" side. I was
not sure why Harpal had two different types of receipts.
2) The last disposal record (7-18-2019) was very faint. I need to email 011ie
Jarvin, coordinator for the HHW, to confirm that he went on the correct date.
3) Harpal mentioned that Sims Metal Management took the appliances
(refrigerators) and the boats. I will need to call them to see if they accept those
items.
