Must be able to read, understand and follow written procedures. Must understand the significance of physical and chemical measurements as defined in written procedures. Must be able to prepare and maintain records required by wash procedures. Must understand and follow guidelines covering use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must understand importance of preventing spills and/or slugs in the effluent discharge from the pretreatment plant. Utility Must have mechanical skills necessary to repair and maintain equipment such as trailers, containers, change tires, etc. Must understand and follow guidelines covering use of PPE. Mechanic Must have knowledge and mechanical skills necessary to repair and maintain diesel engines and trucks. Training In addition to job related training provided by the Machinists Union and the company prior to assignment, and to continuing on-the-job training provided by the company,the following special training is provided to all employees in the above categories. Training is provided at time of hire and is reinforced at least annually. • Hazmat/hazardous waste handling, including use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)and PPE. • Emergency procedures, including emergency shut down, spill prevention/cleanup/reporting, fire alarm and evacuation, notification of emergency responders. • Discharge criteria, slug prevention, storm water pollution prevention.
