"� tiv y m .pli RECYCLING AND REUSE The current discharge permit issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board to the City of Lodi is structured to encourage land application of domestic effluent,as mandated by the Delta Basin Plan. The City owns in excess of 1000 acres of land and leases over 900 acres to local farmers for the cultivation and harvesting of alfalfa,pasture, and feed corn. The plant has the flexibility to irrigate domestic flow and digested sludge to the cropland or to store and re-treat should process upsets occur. 7' WATER QUALITY MONITORING The City has a fully equipped,state-certified laboratory which is involved in every phase of wastewater treatment from process control and pretreatment sampling to final effluent discharge monitoring. The staff tests wastewater samples for various kinds of organisms and toxic concentrations that may be present in the water. - The staff also aids plant operations personnel by identifying process upsets and providing guidance to change operating parameters. OPTIMIZING OPERATIONS The experienced plant operations staff administers the day-to-day - - control of the White Slough facility. Plant operations are monitored and recorded from the Main Indicating Panel located in the Control Building. All of the processes,support systems,and equipment associated with the plant are,to varying degrees,operated and controlled automatically.
