9 0
Beck Property,Tracy,CA November 1988 Site Investigation
o Vulpes Macrotis Mutica/San Joaquin Kit Fox
- Sited in the Beck property area
- Federal Listed, Endangered
- State Listed,Threatened
o Tropidocardum Capparideum/Caperfruited Tropidocardum
- Identified in foothills south of Beck property
- Candidate for Federal Listing, Category 2
Surface Water Information
Review of the previously identified Radian report indicates the largest natural
surface water feature closest to the Beck parcel is the Old River, one of the
tributaries of the Sacramento/San Joaquin River Delta. It is located approximately
4 miles north of the site. An unlined agricultural irrigation channel, Lower Main
Canal, drains to the Delta Mendota Canal via underground pipes. This information
was confirmed through data review at the offices of the State Department of Water
Resources (November 1988).
Well Pumping Information
The City of Tracy provides drinking water to the estimated 30,000 population
through a system of groundwater pumping wells. The nearest municipal drinking
water well is the Tidewater Well located at the City Corporation Yard
approximately 3/4 of a mile northeast of the Beck site, at the intersection of Tracy
Boulevard and Beachnut Road. The Tidewater Well is 1200 feet deep and is
perforated between the depths of 230 and 755 feet. This information was provided
to AEMC by Mr. Darrel Scott, City of Tracy - Utility Division, 12 January 1989. Mr.
Scott was unaware of any private drinking water wells in the City of Tracy.
In November 1988, AEMC contacted the Westside Irrigation District and Ernie
Pombo of the Agricultural Irrigation District for any information on past and
existing irrigation wells and pumping practices. After repeated prodding AEMC was
unable to obtain any significant or reliable information on this subject.
t-0tlzl Page 25
