17 August 2005 <br /> {i AGE-NC Project No 98-0533 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br />' 0 Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylene(BTEX)and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8020, <br />' 0 Fuel oxygenates - tertiary butanol (TBA), di-Isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether <br /> (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method <br />' 8260B, and <br /> • Ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2 dichloroethane (1,2 DCA) in accordance with EPA <br /> method 8260 <br /> At the request of the EHD,a ground water sample from the on-site domestic well was also collected <br /> and analyzed To ensure that formation water was being produced,water was allowed to run out of <br /> the well for approximately 20 minutes,which was long enough to automatically turn the well pump <br /> on Ground water was poured directly Into the 40-m1 VOA vials from a valve at the well head <br /> 4.0. FINDINGS <br /> lie Soil descriptions,ground water elevation,ground water gradient and flow direction were determined <br /> from field data, hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water were assessed by laboratory analysis <br /> of soil and ground water samples <br /> 41 STRATIGRAPHY <br /> The upper 15 to 20 feet consisted of unconsolidated, silt-fine to medium sand, underlain by <br /> approximately 25-30 feet of predominantly silt with sand or clay In both borings,a reddish brown, <br /> stiff clay layer was encountered at 45 feet bsg, followed by alternating sands and silts to <br /> approximately 70 feet bsg Unconsolidated fine to muddy sand was encountered between 70 feet bsg <br /> and total depth of the borings The boring logs are provided in Appendix A <br /> I Hydrocarbons-like odor was not detected in collected soil samples Organic vapor was detected by <br /> the OVM in all soil samples, ranging from 3 0 to 14 5 parts per million Organic vapor field <br /> measurements are included on the boring logs in Appendix A <br /> 42 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> TPH-ag and toluene were detected in soil sample B-6-65'at 1 8 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)and <br /> f� 0 031 mg/kg, respectively No additional petroleum hydrocarbon compounds were detected <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br /> A <br />
